Happy Holidays and Merry Christmas everyone.

Those words are not quite as easy to say enthusiastically as some years in the past. It’s hard to overlook the tragic and heavy things that have been happening, as we all know; and, i know that we all have personal things too, that pile on top of that universal weight. But this is a time of year, where things start to slowdown at work, friends and families come together for maybe the first time in a long time, and we can let ourselves be reminded of the people that we do have and who have helped make us stronger along the way. And vice versa…the perfect time to let those close to you and less fortunate than you know that you are here for them through it all.

I’m extremely grateful for those of you who have been with me for both records and for the ones who have just come to discover my music. Music is obviously one of the most healing potions that we can share with each other. I thank you for letting me get things off my chest and share them with you. Some songs dig deep, others are temporary comic relief, and recently i just needed to dance. Allowing me the pleasure of getting to explore and find a voice in different ways through song is a gift that you’ve given me.

Also, another gift i feel i’ve been allotted is the Nashville community of artists. What a truly inspiring and incredible group of kids in grownup clothing! When I moved to Nashville a little over 5 years ago, I quickly saw a spark that was igniting underneath the pulse of Music City. Of course, Nashville has always been known for its fabulous nudie suits, cowboy boots, and gospel tunes; and will continue to have the prize and deep presence of Classic country music. But as most of you know by now, this town has a strong web of eclectic music rising up. From rock, baroque pop, alternative, electronic, and the list goes on…

I’d love to share with you 22 of these artists that have been feverishly been making their way around town.

I am honored to be aligned with them on a new compilation that just came out yesterday on iTunes called Nashville Indie Spotlight. I included a new song called Coconut Romance that I wrote in Nashville with Josh Rouse and Daniel Tashian (of The Silver Seas). Been playin’ this song live and thought it would be a fun tropical jam to sprinkle into the ole winter blues. My new record My Stadium Electric is also included along with 36 other albums on sale for a discounted price of $7.99. So… go grab you some iStocking stuffers here (is there such a thing?)!!!

I love and cherish each of you and continue to be shocked by your support and encouragement along the way. Good things to come for 2013. Looking forward to sharing them with you. Hope to see you on the road soon…

“The Boys’ Club Live”

I stand submerged in a world of boys.

I love the simplicity.

The humor.

The dirty mouths.

The lack of drama.

I work for them.

They work for me.

I fight them.

They fight me back.

I respect them.

They respect me back.

At the end of the day, we drink whiskey and wine together.

And then we start all over again.

On August 21st, I’m releasing an exclusive EP on ITunes called “The Boys’ Club EP”. I’ll be posting 4 videos; one video per week leading up to the release.
